 Our distillery is in a region renowned for its beauty, its dramatic landscapes and, of course, magnificent lakes. The team behind the new Lakes Malt is steeped in experience. Our founder, Paul Currie, set up with his family the widely acclaimed Arran distillery, and we plan to produce a malt of similarly outstanding quality. Every part of the process has been carefully planned, from the level of peating in our malted barley, the shape of the stills, and importantly the maturation in the finest quality wood – we will use primarily bourbon barrels and sherry hogsheads. Our whisky will be lightly peated, more akin to the malts of the highlands. |
