The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin has received the Gold Outstanding award at the 2022 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).
The oldest and most prestigious wine and spirit competition, the IWSC promote the quality and excellence of the world’s best drinks.
After being rigorously assessed by an expert panel of spirit buyers, producers, distillers, distributors, and influencers, our distinctively zesty Pink Grapefruit Gin scored a remarkable 98 out of 100.
Of the total 919 medals awarded across the gin category, only 23 were given Gold Outstanding status.
We are humbled to receive this recognition from the IWSC, which has been setting the international benchmark for quality in drinks competitions for over 50 years.
Below are the tasting notes provided by the judging panel:
Attractive pink colour. Sensational aroma with lashings of grapefruit on the nose. Good blend of floral and citrus on the palate, with a hint of coriander. Very well- constructed, with perfect sweetness and lingering aftertaste.
Bursting with uplifting citrus notes and refreshingly tangy pink grapefruit flavour, The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin combines distinctively zesty pink grapefruit vigour with the resounding juniper notes of our classic English gin, gently distilled with the luxury of time for exceptional smoothness.
There was also high praise for The Lakes Whisky, with The Whiskymaker’s Editions – Recuerdo and The One Fine Blended Whisky achieving scores of 91, and 90 out of 100, respectively.
We are delighted to add these accolades to our growing list of awards for our spirits, which includes The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.4 being named the Best English Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards.
