To showcase the best of The Whiskymaker’s Reserve, we joined forces with some of the best bars in London to enjoy an Old Fashioned with The Lakes Single Malt Whisky.
Marrying the best of tradition with modern inspiration, these bars in the heart of the capital are where we would like to spend our evenings conversing, debating and pondering with our nearest and dearest.
By adding a twist to the traditional, layering complementary and contrasting flavours, and integrating personal influences within the recipe, mixologists from both world-renowned bars and hotels, to hidden gems across London used The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.5 to develop their own delectably delicious takes on the eminent Whisky Cocktail.

West & South West London
KENSINGTON
With a royal reputation, Kensington exudes opulence, not only in the exterior, but with its offering of attractions. Kensington Palace and its immaculate gardens is the big draw for tourists, but this captivating neighbourhood has a trilogy of distinguished museums - the Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum and Natural History Museum - to discover alongside a thriving social and dining scene.
KNIGHTSBRIDGE
Bordering on the vast green Hyde Park, Knightsbridge claims an enviable location. Home to a duo of world-famous department stores, it has earned itself a reputation as a shopper’s paradise. Trips to Harrods and Harvey Nichols on Brompton Road might be the mecca for shopaholics, but there’s lots more this enchanting district has to offer, with five-star hotels and exclusive night-spots aplenty.
MAYFAIR
Sophisticated and affluent, with its Georgian-building-lined streets, Mayfair is one of the capital’s wealthiest neighbourhoods. Situated between the famous Oxford Street, Piccadilly, and Park Lane, it boasts a treasure trove of prestigious restaurants, luxurious bars and high-end boutiques, complemented by acclaimed landmarks encapsulating its rich history. It’s little wonder why the rich and famous desire permanent residency in this lavish corner of London.
WESTMINSTER
With Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament amongst its portfolio of eminent sights, this bustling borough needs little introduction. Whilst it is unlikely to ever shake its tourist hotbed tag, there’s plenty more to Westminster than a plethora of iconic landmarks. Beautiful walks across its gardens or along the banks of the Thames are complemented by a stellar line up of exquisite restaurants and quintessential English pubs.
Central & North
HOLBORN
The former London borough of Holborn, now a part of the up-and-coming Camden, showcases its compelling history through unique architecture and starring cast of museums. While you’re never far from reminders of a time gone by – the modern-day buzz of busy bar or vibrant restaurant isn’t far away. Close proximity to the West End and excellent transport links helping to draw the crowds in once more.
KINGS CROSS
Best known for its two hustling train stations, this part of London is understandably seen as a transport hub. However, explore beyond the platforms and it soon become apparent that this area has undergone some big changes. Amidst the Victorian buildings, a cluster of high-end bars, pubs and restaurants can be found with ease, and retail therapy is covered at a Coal Drops Yard, a shopping district born out of a Victorian coal depot.
West End
COVENT GARDEN
Covent Garden is a one-stop-shop for entertainment set in the booming West End. Street performance meets designer chic in this popular shopping and theatre district. At the heart of it all is Covent Garden Piazza, a cobblestone square lined with performers and home to St Paul’s Church and illustrious market offering a perfect snapshot of the area’s past and present.
