Fall in love with flavour: Toast this Valentine's Day with The Lakes

We've poured our hearts into crafting a symphony of charming concoctions, each designed to capture the essence of love through the art of mixology.

Join us on a journey of flavour creation, where we showcase four cocktails that promise to add an extra layer of decadence to your toasting a romantic moment.

Winam

Designed to enhance the warm spices and sweet berry flavour notes of the whisky, this Old Fashioned-inspired creation takes on a red wine influence with the contrasting flavours of sour cherry juice and rich date syrup.

Ingredients

50ml The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.7
15ml Sour Cherry Juice
1tbsp Date Syrup
Squeeze of Orange Peel
Garnish with Candied Ginger

Method

Mix the whisky, sour cherry juice and date syrup in a cocktail shaker, and stir, until fully dissolved. Add the ice and continue to stir. Pour into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a squeeze of orange peel and a piece of candied ginger.


Juno

Drawing inspiration from classic Champagne cocktails, this refreshing serve is designed to stimulate your appetite with subtle notes of herbs and spices.

Ingredients

50ml The Whiskymaker's Editions Iris
15ml Elderflower Cordial
10ml Yellow Charteuse Liqueur
60ml Sparkling Medium Dry Cider
Garnish with Fresh Raspberry

Method

Shake all of the ingredients except the cider vigorously in a cocktail shaker with ice. Once mixed and cooled, strain into a chilled champagne flute, top with medium dry sparkling cider and served with a fresh raspberry.

 

Aura

A striking and refreshing drink to upgrade your G&T, the zesty and spicy notes of our classic English gin combine beautifully with tonic, orange juice, Tabasco and pomegranate syrup to create a colourful and sweet serve.

Ingredients

30ml Fresh Orange Juice
10ml Pomegranate Syrup
3 drops of Tabasco
London Essence Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic Water
Garnish with Half a Cherry Tomato

Method

Built around a long ice column, add Tabasco  to your glass at the beginning to avoid overpowering flavours. Next, pour the gin, freshly squeezed orange juice and pomegranate syrup, before mixing well to full combine. Top with Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic, stir once more, and garnish with half a cherry tomato.


Ceodre Martini

 A savoury Vodka Martini, with a touch of acidity and nutty and spicy notes working in harmony with a garnish of cheddar cheese (or Nocellara olive as a airy-free option).

Ingredients

5ml Oloroso Sherry
5ml Cider Vinegar

Garnish with a Mild Cheddar Cheese Cube

Method

Using precise measurements of Oloroso sherry and cider vinegar to ensure the right balance of flavours, pour all of your ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice. The longer you stir, the more dilution occurs. Pour straight up into a martini glass and garnish with a mild cheddar cheese cube. And if you pre-store The Lakes Vodka in the freezer, it adds an indulgent velvet texture to the drink.

 

Cielo

The gentle embrace of chamomile intertwines with the luscious essence of melon in this delicately crafted highball. Serving as the perfect canvas, Cielo masterfully accentuates the floral nuances of Galáxia


Ingredients

15ml Melonade
10ml Verjus
100ml Chamomile Tea
Garnish with a lemon twist 


Method

Infuse 1 chamomile tea bag in 200ml of boiling water for 25 minutes (ideally in a teapot; if in a mug cover with clingfilm to allow brewing). Remove the tea bag and let the infusion cool down to room temperature. Then, add all the ingredients into the glass and continuously stir for 10-12 seconds. Top with ice and garnish with a lemon twist on the rim of the glass.
