We went international this month with the launch of our range at the Tokyo International Bar Show.
Our Founder and COO, Paul Currie spent a week in Japan earlier this month, where we were exhibiting at one of the country’s leading on-trade bar shows. This exciting event attracted over 10,000 people over two days with the opportunity to see our brands.
Paul was showcasing our full range, but in particular we were introducing our new blended malt, Steel Bonnets, to the international market. Steel Bonnets, the world’s first blend of English and Scotch whisky, received a fabulous reaction for its taste and innovative packaging.
Launching in July, we look forward to seeing this unique whisky grace some shelves of some of Tokyo’s leading bars.
In addition to the whisky launch, The Lakes Gin and liqueurs received some special attention. Whilst the gin market in the UK is quite mature, this spirit is an emerging market for the Japanese. New and innovative products such as our flavoured gin liqueurs, in their bright bottles and packaging, were extremely popular at the show.
Whilst Paul was out there mixing with the great and good of Japanese top mixologists, he also hosted a special training seminar for our distributors’ top customers. Ohyama hosted a special event for 30 leading bartenders and mixologists, where we were able to share the story of our amazing journey and educate them on our spirits.
