Working in collaboration with local partners is always a rewarding experience and our relationship with Booths is no different.
Established in 1847, by Edwin Henry Booth – a tea merchant in Blackpool – Booths was founded with one simple aim, to sell the best food and drink available, in attractive stores, staffed with first-class assistants.
Thanks to changes in UK licensing laws, Booths began retailing wine and liquor in 1863, a tradition in which it continues to excel, receiving recognition as ‘Supermarket of the Year’ at the 2020 Decanter Retail Awards, based on their range, service and innovation.
Remaining family-owned to this day, Booths proudly operate across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, and Cheshire, with a commitment to source products locally and seasonally from businesses in the counties they serve.
Engaging with the wider community, they strive to develop partnerships with local suppliers, producers, schools, and like-minded organisations, like The Lakes Distillery.
It is this fresh approach to retailing that has earned the company its position as the UK’s leading regional supermarket, and one of our biggest supporters and partners.
This is why we are delighted the UK release of The Whiskymaker’s Editions – Sequoia is available exclusively in Booths stores and our distillery shop. And on the same day that Booths unveil their revered Christmas Book; a celebration of the very best festive food and drink.
We are delighted to be working with The Lakes Distillery on the launch of the limited-edition release of Sequoia. We are proud to see another high-quality whisky stocked in Booths stores and, as a limited release, we know Sequoia will prove very popular with our customers who recognise great products and always like to buy from local suppliers.
Pete Newton, Booths.
